What are your thoughts on pay discrepancies based on family structure? Ex. Two people do the same job but one is paid more or given a larger bonus “because they have kids and you live alone” or “because their family is struggling”. Have an offer from AWS for an L7 Principal PMT role: $215k base + $275k sign on bonus for Year 1 and $215k for year 2 + 5100 RSUs (@ $130 / share). I am much stressed.. it’s only been 5 months to join Capgemini. I joined in as cyber security consultant with good package.
However, the work I do the tricks, logics and solutions I share with team to apply in the project… all are of no use when discussed with the architect guy. The whole team rely upon the wordings/solutions suggested by him only. It feels like my skill/knowledge and experience is of no use.
I feel like what am I doing here….? Any suggestions please.

Whenever I got promoted to digital ACD a few years ago, I noticed my pay was much lower than I expected for the market I’m in, hard to find skillsets, performance, and visibility I’ve brought to the agency. I’ve brought this up a few times and was told HR would do research into salary equity, but the convo always fades. Joining a big firm next week as fully remote lateral and flying out to home office for orientation. The schedule has me in office until 4:15. I’ve already been told I won’t have any actual work. Thoughts on recording meetings. In Texas and have ADHD. I’ve been recording internal meetings for the past couple of weeks and my work product has improved exponentially. I’m able to go back and listen to the directions over again. In law school I had a note that gave me permission to do this. Is this taboo in a firm?
