Anyone do workers comp in Chicago that could give me some advice? I currently do NY comp (making $90K) but am moving soon and thought I’d look around. I received an offer of 100K but they said bonuses are after 170 billed hours per month. I had indicated I was looking for $120K and they said that if I billed 2400 hours for the year the bonus would be $25K. Is this a good deal?

In my company, we have a staff of customer support agents to resolve user concerns, but they prefer to complain on social media and never call the number we give them. Should we transfer the agents to the Social Media platforms or insistently try to get them to call us?

Advice on managing up / enduring toxic deal teams? I’m at the point where my stomach drops any time I see something come in from certain people. How do firms calculate how much parental leave to provide, either paid or unpaid. We get four weeks paid and four weeks unpaid. Would like to push for more but not sure how to argue costs side of it.

I’m not naive or fresh out of law school, but I’m at a point where I’m saying to myself “Why can’t I have it all?” I’ve been offered a job for more pay and less hours and I keep thinking to myself, what’s the catch? I know people will say no promotion potential or that’s not how it works…but what if it could? What if you make yourself valuable by still setting your boundaries? Why would we resent someone who has that opportunity?

I’ve since been focused on a Patent Attorney track and am with a firm that will support me taking the patent bar/law school. If I get through processing and go to the CIA for some time, do you think would I be accepted back into patent law later on?
