I think Deloitte has to seriously start considering their employee's wlb. They are just not "resources" who can be used as machines to work 13-14 hours a day. Expecting USI Employees to be available for US Counterparts and clients late night hampers the health a lot. On top of that how is the person expected to be productive if that person is leading the workstream without any support and have to attend 6-7 hours of call. Glad I am moving away from this toxic life but Deloitte should seriously consider their employees well being
Unrelated but how’s work life balance over at Accenture? Seems like no matter where you go in this industry burnout/under staffing is quite common
Work life balance is as expected with the consulting! There are days we worked for more than 12 hours/day! There are days that we worked not more than an hour...
The worst thing is that the career growth is too slow
I moved from Deloitte to Accenture. WLB at Accenture is significantly better. Less expectations on +1s, nightly India calls, and weekend work. Progression is more standard at Deloitte (2-3 years at each level).
No life only work
I’ve always had decent WLB balance. I very rarely work more than 10 hours in a day outside of the tail end of testing or Go-Live.
I feel I’m severely underpaid so the decent work schedule and an upcoming promotion are the only things really keeping me around at this point.
Don’t want to give away too much on here because I’m part of a more niche practice in oracle.
But I’m expecting 20-30% increase in total comp. if I don’t get that I fully plan on leaving
Deloitte if you join as Senior consultant thats it you have no life only work
