I’m an Environmental Protection Specialist and make pretty good money for what I do. I just feel like I have more to offer than being a worker bee in a system at 25. I work with a lot of retirees and would love to return in my latter professional years. I have my Bachelors in Applied Coastal Environmental Science and want to expand my options. Im a pastry cook with 4yrs experience and the average salary start for this position is now at $22/hr here in vegas, especially in the strip. But cooking/baking is not my passion. So im changing into veterinary medicine and im seeing that the starting rate for a vet tech is around $16-18. Why is that?? Why are people in the vet med industry being paid so low?? Something needs to change. Labor of love aint enough for the people in this job.

I flunked out of school and had no options when I joined the army. I hated every second of my time in, and spent all my weekends getting as drunk as possible.

Now that I’m out, I graduated with my BA in Econ, got a job I love, and somehow got into an M7 Bschool with a 670 GMAT. I look back on my time in and laugh, and still talk with some of my old army buddies (though not as often anymore)
