You needed to get at least a bit of pharma work under your belt to even be considered. When I was on staff, another group had some OTC Rx and I did one or two projects for them. That was enough to send me on my way in Pharma. That’s really all you needed to get your foot in the door (usually)—then volunteer to help on any other disease state and you’ll be good.

SC1 is correct. It’s more difficult though if you’re freelance b/c you don’t have the opportunity to create the internal relationship that you’d have working FT at an agency… BUT many agencies like to bring in non-pharma freelancers to help out on pitches since they tend to be much more conceptual.
If you can land a few freelance gigs on pitches then it will help you eventually secure pharma work that will put you more in the weeds so you can learn the nuts and bolts.

Join colab. They don’t care if you have pharma work
They do if you’re a writer. A friend is there doing lots of Subpart H, which is submission of materials to the FDA. You’d BETTER know pharma.
DTC is easier than HCP (imho)
Just apply essentially
Pharma experience just means eating shit from regulatory reviewers, so just talk up how much shit you can eat and how bored you can be with work while still getting a ton of done.
