Job is good, it's especially good for the people who want to leave public but might not yet know exactly what they want to do. There's a big variety of type of projects, but what you get is largely based on timing and luck. There are some interesting projects but there are also some duds. Most projects vary in length from 3 mos to 6 mos so if you get a dud, at least there is an end in sight. Travel opps are def there, you can select your travel preference and the firm compensates you for traveling. Regarding comp overall, it is very good, with a competitive base and a lot of opportunity for quarterly bonuses. However, keep in mind that the higher salary is based on a minimum 45-hour workweek, so take that into account for your decision. Firm desires 48 work weeks so also take that into consideration. However, you are compensated for extra hours worked in the form of a "production bonus." The extra hours are calculated as an excess of 45 hours. Another cool thing is annual meetings and socials to keep connected with your colleagues that might be on different assignments. They recently rolled out a program where everyone in the firm will get to the Vegas at least once a year, so that's a nice perk. Referral bonuses are quite good, better than any big 4. It's not a perfect job and it's not an easy 40-hr week job but you are compensated well and have the potential to really get a wide variety of experiences. And I've never worked in a place that is so open to sharing the profits, which is refreshing after being in big 4.
Ya I actually have the same question. What's the job like, salary, travel, projects?
Wow that's great to hear...if you don't mind me asking what would I expect for salary jumping in with 2.5 years of experience in big 4?
Sounds appealing but I'm not sure how I feel about 48 hour weeks
What do ya wanna know
How are the hours? What's the work like? You like your team? I'm considering switching to Siegfried lol
Thanks for great details. Definitely will apply for Siegfried now :)
I'm interested also. Is the travel opp only for top performers or do ppl who ask for it usually get it? I live in NY and if I join siegfried I'm assuming I'll mainly be out on financial services clients I'm NY.
You can select your travel preference from the start, so it's not based on performance per se. However, if you're in NYC then it's likely you won't need to travel much because there are so many assignments there (not just FS)
Pwc1 not sure, it's dependent on market and what you can negotiate. Go on Glassdoor and see the ranges there
I hear that the seigfried group lays off a lot of people each year. Is that true?
Not mass layoffs. I'm sure there's a firing here and there for performance issues but nothing wide-scaled since I've been here.
So. I read Glassdoor reviews. The CEO isn't very popular amongst the reviewers. They said he talked too much about himself and his political view during training and quarterly meeting. Is that true?
Is siegfried only for audit or are there opportunities for tax ?
