Bain & Company Hello Fishes.
What is the average CTC offered for a Research Associate with 1 year of experience in Healthcare consulting?
I'm looking forward for opportunities, hence would be great to know the current CTC trends to effectively negotiate with the employer.
Thanks in advance!

Very interested to hear about the FDD culture differences between KPMG and RSM. I posted elsewhere about this but didn’t get many responses from rsm and other middle market firms. Can you weigh in?
Work for RSM have a few close friends that work/worked KPMG Deal Advisory so can confidently compare. Culture examples: 1) You get to take your vacation and don't have to explain why you're taking off 2) If you work til 10-11 (which has been a normality recently) the directors/ partners actually say thank you and appreciate the work. At KPMG that's the expectation 3) Weekend work is primarily to "push things along" rather than get meaningful work done (i.e., 2-3 hours vs. a full day) and 4) Compensation has been consistently 15-20% higher in same market and him and I have the same experience. Was making ~30k more until KPMG raises in Feb now $15k more. 5) On avg. if I work 9-9 my friends work 9-10,9-11. so maybe a 5-10 hour/week difference, although there are times I work more. 6) clients are 100% more demanding in Big4 (you're paying double the price so of course)
RSM paid bonuses and gave raises, not had their employees work night shift on banking projects for months, have given 4 extra holidays (fiscal year-end, friday before memorial day, friday before Juy 4th and next year MLK).
Cons: 1) Exit opps could be more lucrative from big 4 (MM banking rather than boutique banking, large company FP&A vs. middle market FP&A, middle market PE vs. boutique PE), 2) Partner compensation is definitely lower than Big4 (I think the WL balance could be better), 3) If you've got bad clients a lot of your work is cleaning up small messy Company's, 4) Can be expected to work on more small deals at once vs. one large deal.
As former big4, of course I'm biased but have been happy and can see myself staying a few more years. Hope this helps and happy to chat if anyone has any questions.
Absolutely - I think overall both firms hire similar people however RSM is not at all as cut throat as KPMG and rarely we have aggressive or impossible deadlines. Projects are staffed much better because retention is high given they actually pay their employees market / or above market rates as we have less overhead than a typical big 4 firm. Overall, from my perspective, I felt as if that KPMG didn’t care about me, only viewed me as a body in the machine to help drive profits. For example at KPMG if we got support from the client at 7-8 pm I would have to work through the support that night until 11-12 to make sure we are on schedule. While at RSM that is a morning task. Also, one big thing I didn’t realize when I joined RSM was the depth of our Pe client base. You still get to work with some of the largest PE funds, without the 2am / weekend nights. Hope this is helpful

Ok cool - well congrats on the career transition, seems like a great opportunity.
Please mind your non-compete.

Lol get a load of this guy. You do realize this comment validates OP’s post and sheds light on the toxic culture? 🤦🏻
Rather than post a rebuttal and response that the firm has a great culture with some examples, you’re basically saying “oh no, we’re being found out - hey mind your noncompete/keep our horribleness to yourself/you’re non supposed to tell the truth around here!”
From my understanding - the roles are currently remote with the option to go to the office if you want / feel comfortable. Office is beautiful though ; has a tech start up vibe with a game room and on tap nitro cold brew coffee and beer
Ya I would need fully remote role to consider. I’m waiting for offer from Deloitte FDD but I’m not sure they’ll let me be remote. If you think RSM would allow fully remote I’d be very interested!
Are RSMs positions remote?
