Construction costs / inflation / Costa Rica: I am considering buying land & building a short-term vacation rental villa in Costa Rica. Sole goal is to get a 10%+ ROI (going there for holidays as extra perk). For those with company equity or unit incentive programs, is it common to forfeit vested equity upon voluntary departure? Explained as a “retention tool” but essentially held captive by a payout since the contract says equity doesn’t fully vest at 100% until the company is resold.
