I do. Hours are great and salary is great. I joined at the leadership level so not concerned with promotions/growth. I intend to stay here till I retire.
Chief
I feel like those jobs are for those that are ready to retire or have low goals/settled in life. Well pay and probably good hours but very little upward mobility and pretty much doing repetition on a daily basis.
I just left a family office role. Everyone there was related. It was a very toxic environment. Everyone related received special treatment, more PTO, larger bonuses, more pay increases, able to take 3-4 hour lunches to get hair and nails done (and get paid for it), and so much more. My pay was mediocre because I’m a woman. The men in roles less than me were paid more and treated better. I only received 3 holidays, 5 PTO days, no additional sick days, and not great benefits. The owners thought they made “the best work environment”, and do not understand why they’ve had so much turnover this year lol great work life balance though (about 40-45 hours per week).
Correct, because I’m a female. The place was sexist. I realize not all companies are, but this specific company was. Which was one main reason it was a toxic work environment for me.
I work at a family office. The pay is very well & great benefits. Leadership gets paid bank. Family is involved so you have to be on your best behavior when they’re around
Not me but some of my coworkers did PA.
One of my clients is a family office. They pay very well but there are no growth opportunities. People work 35-40 hours on average. Sr leadership may reach 50-60 if there’s a transaction happening.
I work at a family office. #1 most important thing is the reputation of the family or families you are considering working for. If they are known for philanthropy and not for being greedy and rude, it's a good place to be. Sure, upward mobility might be a bit limited, but you can move to other family offices if you're trying to climb the ladder.
I like it. I work with good people, I am paid well, and the bonuses are really dope.
I work 40 hours but it's actual hard work during those hours. I get great benefits.
Also it matters how involved the family is in the family office. If they have an operating company it's different than if the family office is their business.
"Once you've seen one family office, you've seen one family office" (because they're all so unique)
I have a friend that does. She has great wlb and makes really great money. She always has nothing but good things to say.
