Anyone know if there’s a potential case for property damages from flooding if the city failed to maintain a storm drain (they knew there was a clog after the last flood). Need a glimmer of hope…

If they're supposed to maintain the drain and you can specifically and definitively prove that the flooding was due to failure to maintain (negligence), you may have a case.

If you can prove that they knew there was a problem that could reasonably be expected to lead to flooding and knowingly chose not to address the problem in a reasonable timeframe, you may have a better case.

It's all in the details, and you should consult with an attorney.

I loathe Monday morning meetings. We have a monthly team meeting at 8:00am PT and it makes me so mad! 😂 It’s always on a Monday, and I have the hardest time getting motivated for them. Normally I wake up at 6:30am, check the news, stocks, shower, eat breakfast, get dressed and start answering emails at 8am.. no speaking meetings until 10am. However, on the team meeting Monday’s, I’m scrambling to do my morning routine and get setup to present/share my screen.. I hate them. We all hate them lol!

Recruiters- Are any of you hiring for Corporate law, tax, or any other interesting fields? I’m an admitted attorney in NYC. Thanks!

Had a consultation with an attorney for legal advice on my options to address a late filing for a taxable event. They recommended me two options: file or not file. In order to help him with the consultation he asked to send him additional information like bank statements and work authorization which I sent.

If I decide to not file or go to another attorney if the fees are high, can the attorney still report me or whistle blow me to the tax authorities?
