I loathe Monday morning meetings. We have a monthly team meeting at 8:00am PT and it makes me so mad! 😂 It’s always on a Monday, and I have the hardest time getting motivated for them. Normally I wake up at 6:30am, check the news, stocks, shower, eat breakfast, get dressed and start answering emails at 8am.. no speaking meetings until 10am. However, on the team meeting Monday’s, I’m scrambling to do my morning routine and get setup to present/share my screen.. I hate them. We all hate them lol!

What are some creative ways that I can reward my team? They've been working really hard lately and I want to show my appreciation

Do you give the office manager (who does assist you with admin tasks from time to time) a christmas present (aka cash)? I have an admin assistant so that's an obvious yes but I don't know how to handle the office manager or receptionist!

My company cut staff to 4 days/wk to save funds. I was getting requests from coworkers for docs needed urgently on our day off (fridays). I would oblige them. But then, I learned that those same coworkers had been put back to 5 days because they were deemed “essential“. I felt foolish and decided to stop working on fridays. No one has an office, much less an assistant. Creative and account are different jobs with their own dress codes. But dumb, off brief ideas by white creatives do win.

Anyone else not like talking through stuff with their creative partners? I feel like all our time is spent getting on the same page with each other and we don’t really riff off of each other. I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault, we just have different personalities and senses of humor.

What you should do when dealing with a very toxic worker that keep on sending passive aggressive messages to you as well as in group chat and email.

How to not let this toxic co-worker not poison me any further?

I’ve been asked by a client to coach their team on how to structure and write scripts for their corporate event content (e.g. panel discussions). I’ve happily had a crack at helping them but it’s a bit out of my wheelhouse - is this ask something that would ordinarily be given to an agency copywriter? Or would it usually be something a content or speech writer would do?
Either way, I’m happy to add the additional skill to my CV 😅

Let’s talk about wrongful termination. The other day I was fired in the middle of the day without any warning. My colleagues called me because they were confused on why the Talent Manager dismissed me from the chat. I didn’t know what they were referring to. So I called my PM to ask what was happening, and she said that she just got off the phone with the TM and said they were terminating my contract on the spot due to me speaking up about micromanaging. No explanation just kicked out. Advice?

What are your thoughts about wearing chinos to work?

Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? The IC gives vague “direction” then says they are too busy to clarify. They also refuse to use our project management/ collaboration tools.

I was about to talk trash about my truck driving friends and blame them for my heatwave related problems. I recently was diagnosed with bipolar 2 disorder and although it’s provided a sense of relief and understanding, I’m hitting a low moment and I feel like all the inspiration and productivity I was just feeling has slipped away at the worse time. I’m trying to switch jobs because, to say it simply, my job doesn’t help with the depression. However, I still want to do great work until that time yet I’m struggling with motivation often.
