More money, less work, better culture.
Check in with me in a week 🤣. But I’m pretty stoked
Totally worth it. Much more free time, coworkers are not intense/stressed. I spend time with my kids every day and no longer feel bad or behind.
10000% worth it. My primary goal for leaving consulting was to have better WLB. In my industry role I’m 99% remote and work 15-20 hrs a week
Hi.. your manager here. Just checking in.
Yea I went from 105k base at Pwc as a SA3 to 390k base in less than 2 years. You can make it what you want in industry. Too much opposition in consulting
Where did you go?! Congrats !!!!
I’d even say a lot of people’s goal with consulting is to set yourself up for a better work/life balance career in the industry where you can lead and make good money, but have time back with family/friends.
Yeah, decent. It was a slightly lateral move but with strong upside potential. I squeezed a 10% base raise into the move along with a guaranteed 8% bonus kicker for the next two years on top of what will likely be 10-15% company wide bonus for the foreseeable future. I miss some of the variety and excitement from consulting and the super smart people that were always around, but the client I went to is huge. Lots of industry experts and a world class c-suite. I thought I’d stay in consulting until there was a Sr. Director or VP level exit but my consulting agency took a disappointing turn so I jumped on an opportunity that puts me at a Sr. Manager level with strong upside for larger leadership roles over the next few years. WLB is similar. 50% in office policy. It’s an easy 40 ish hours per week. Very infrequent travel requirements.
Fantastic until recent news of mandatory 4 days a week in person.
Best decision of my career
