I had interviewed for an internship position at EY for technology consultant program for summer 2022 and got a call where they extended an offer. I wanted to know if I can defer the internship offer to fall 2022 or a later start date after summer.
I apologize as I cannot reply to a comment or DM on this platform to anyone, but thanks for your answers in advance.

I once calculated how much more I would have to be paid in order to take an on-site position and it came out to $100,000, no joke. It included parking, train fare, coffee, and lunch, additional childcare, dog walks, and compensation for my time which is an hour and a half each way door-to-door, plus truing it up for taxes for the additional costs that I pay with post tax money.

I really enjoy being onsite 2 or 3 days a week. It lets me separate work from home, I have conversations with coworkers I wouldn’t otherwise converse with, and I get to hear about things that are happening outside of my product that help me think about the bigger picture.
I haven’t worked in office 5 days a week since 2012, and have been 3 (or fewer) days onsite since 2019.

I would still prefer remote, even if it comes with a pay cut.
