Anyone successfully protested property taxes in Texas? Will it work? Any tips?

My husband has successfully protested many times in both Collin and Dallas counties. He does it on his own, documenting with photos. But you can be TOO successful -- no one around us protests so our tax value is well below our neighbors, and Dallas CAD uses that against us and calls him a crank, lol.

Thank you

I interviewed with a firm in Dallas and that’s all they did.

Yes every year. I use Resolute with referral discount

My experience is they charge about 1/3 of what they save you and they work on contingency.

I protested and won new yearly appraisal values. Is that what you’re talking about?

I actually did it on my own with help from my relator. She pulled a ton of local comps and time on market stats. I did a summary explanation along with comps. Won 3 years in a row. 5th year they wanted me to come to a hearing for it, I said pass as I was selling the house later that year.
Edit: this was in Dallas

I did it once by mail and got a minor reduction. I am doing one by video next week.

What kind of documents we need to support our protest

Thank you

If someone could please help clarify - how do I add other people on the onset on buying a property? This is a new build, buying directly from the builder.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

New strat folks.
1. Buy a condo complex.
2. Put the land under said condos into a land conservatorship (for taxes)
3. Rent condos at discounted rates (for taxes)
4. A small fee of the rent goes to a trust as a land conservation fee in perpetuity (for tax reasons)
5. Have another business generating revenue to offset this.
