Anyone switch off Zoom video, to smoke while taking/attending a call?

Hi music teachers! How are you surviving? I’ve been teaching band and choir for a long time, but distance learning and Zoom has me stumped. I’m lucky to have a job, I realize. What are some things you’re doing in your virtual classrooms that your music students enjoy?

As busy season approaches and social distancing continues is anyone interested in having a virtual accountability group? We will hold ourselves accountable for being productive, eating healthy, 30 minutes exercise a day, have happy hours ect. I’m thinking of having a google docs sheet we fill out weekly and a zoom happy hour we do every other week ?

After building up the members, we can arrange a Zoom speed dating call! Open to other ideas as well on how to use this for people looking to date

Anybody watching the playoffs? Can’t say I’ve seen an ad as awful as the Rogers/Microsoft Teams one in a while.

IBM started to drop the mail for join Slack etc. and the mail for laptop request for new hire . What if I don't join on the last day or deny to join on last day ? Because still need to decide between two offers .

When everyone is getting more than they’re full of Zoom meetings, what are some other ways to keep employees engaged, connected, and feeling like they’re part of something important?

I never thought I’d say this, but I kinda miss the networking events and stuff. I used to just show up to those to be a good “firm citizen,” but I’d really love to see another lawyer in person instead of through a Zoom call. If I ran into one of my old classmates from law school, I’d probably hug them right now.

I feel inadequate and unsure of how or if to acknowledge the US/Buffalo racist murders and terrorism of this weekend in the workplace. My husband just told me he thinks we’d be happier as co-parents than as spouses, and I’m gobsmacked. Is there a way to bypass the promotion policy of not being able to apply for jobs in 2 or more levels above your current level?
