Anyone use monitor extensions for their laptops? Looking for recs that are not too heavy. Thank you!

I work hybrid and use a 15.6” portable monitor with my laptop when working from home - connects (both power and display) via USB-C to my laptop and takes up very little space in my laptop bag if I want both when traveling. Dirt cheap investment (have had for 2+ years) and major improvement to both productivity and day to day job satisfaction. Here is what I use - https://a.co/d/18b5Oqd

This is similar to the one I use as well, super convenient when traveling but still need to get work done.

I found using a second portable monitor worked better for me than an extension that slides onto the laptop itself.

But … where would I put this second monitor when drinking pina coladas on the beach? 😭

I was between the Remarkable and Sonsu travel monitors. I went with the Sonsu because I had an Amazon gift card I wanted to use on it and didn’t like the beveling on the Remarkable. It’s light to carry around and the display is much higher quality that my main monitor so I use it to show exhibits during depos. It came with a travel sleeve but I wish it came with something heavier for the price.

Additional Posts in Law

Hi new here. Idk what my value is and if I’m getting paid an amount that reflects my hard work. I am a paralegal for a small law firm (family and immigration) w only 1 attorney. I have about 20 files or more in my rotation at a time. I work on various types of cases at once. Some are simple, others are extensive. I feel like it’s very unstructured and one of the managers micromanages. It’s like every man for himself. Take home pay is $50k. I am working on my bachelors deg. Do I get paid enough?

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

Advice Request: Started my career litigating. Switched to niche transactions (so about half and half at this point). Halfway through a year long sabbatical and reevaluating what I want to do (left before jumping to Senior associate). I’d like to get into litigation again in a practice group I don’t have experience in. Any suggestions on how to do this? How to approach firms and partners etc? Past 2 firms on my resume are top 30.

What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. I'm grateful to have lots of good work but not sure how to course correct.

Have a call on Friday with the CEO of an environmental entrepreneurship non-profit. It could lead to a professional opportunity and maybe even billable work I can refer to my firm down the line.
