Anyone using video resumes or intro videos? I saw a few posts saying it helps stand out, but I don’t know if that’s just TikTok hype. Would love to hear if it’s actually worked in tech.

I'm definitely not doing that, nor have I heard much about it. I have had some applications that required me to record a little intro video, and it was insanely awkward.

I’ve seen mixed results with video resumes. They can help you stand out, but many companies still rely on traditional applications. If you’d like, I can point you to a job search specialist who helps tech professionals decide when tools like intro videos actually add value. You can send your resume to him at georgerobinsonhiringteam . gmail . com

I haven't done it but honestly it isn't a bad idea. I have seen more and more companies asking for a short video submitted on their webite. I think it would probably help a person really stand out.

Some people find them helpful for roles where communication, presentation, or creativity matter, but in most tech roles a strong resume and portfolio still carry more weight.

Hello folks, I’m after some advice please. I recently bought a couple of indoor plants and added to the cart what I think is a very expensive bottle of natural mist to use on the leaves. All organic, glass bottle etc. supposed to use it 2-3 times per week but 2 weeks in I’m down to half a bottle and it was £15 (approx $20). I understand that I need to nurture the plants but it strikes me as a rather expensive mist. Is there anything you’d recommend I can use instead? Thanks.

Apple

Pros:
- astounding financial benefits, great healthcare

Cons:

- too many cultists
- closed culture with extremely compartmentalized information, working on a small piece of the puzzle, with reduced ability to demonstrate true value, unless already high up.
- collaboration across teams is made unusually difficult and doesn’t seem encouraged.
- not remote friendly -- making everyone go back

Tbh, I am scared. But I have set myself one year to learn something new.
I also want to go for a job that pays more (55k€ currently). I live in Paris, France, and software developers are not well paid.
Any suggestion for a career transition?
