It’s a WITCH company, career dead end for onshore.
Indeed. I have a pretty big problem with that
If you are a well rounded technologist and consultant a move to Cognizant is career limiting. I speak from experience. I have seen associates who were repeatedly overlooked for promotion make partner at Big4 firms a year or two after joining. Cognizant seems to be the sort of organisation where only the s**t rises.
Hey I recently got an join offer from cognizant and but I’m skeptical cause they said they a send me some funds to get my equipment with (like a MacBook ) for work and send me they trusted vendor to pay for it to be shipped to me . Is this legit coming this company also did my interview through questions on Microsoft Teams

No. That’s a common scam. It is scammers pretending to be a major company. Just ask AI.

Do you currently have a job? I’d take it over being unemployed.
The particular role I came across was listed as remote. Regardless, seems like I’ll be avoiding
Don't do it. I spent a very long time there. It was the blue eyed boy of wall Street then new management came in and it's a shit show. Don't go. Also no chance remote = Montana. Remote for witch companies is "live in the suburbs with easy access to decent sized airports so we don't have to invest in office space"
Cognizant is full of over promoted under achievers. If you have the slightest modicum of talent, skill or experience you will be descended on by a pride of sociopaths who will expect you to work on client engagements while working across multiple large bids - so they can make their targets. Senior management lack content, any real experience and are full of fluff. Their providence largely stems from companies you’ve never heard of or Indian pure plays.
HR wins the prize for the most under performing area of the organisation. Even the IT system used to onboard fail to work correctly. Resources from the west are used to train resources from the east. Don’t be surprised if you’re later replaced by a cheaper resource who struggles to string a coherent sentence together. I’m embarrassed to say I worked for this company.
The CEO spends most of his time moving capabilities to India, bringing over ex-colleagues who are incompetent from Infosys, and getting his face on the cover of TIME.
Could I get a referral 🥹
You probably want to hold off joining right now. The Global Head of Technology Consulting has gone AWOL. The UK Head of Technology Consulting is highly likely to be replaced before Christmas for significant underperformance. Senior leadership tend to drift off into the ether never to be seen again. However, some have materialised at Capgemini.
If you’re looking for a career, I wouldn’t recommend joining Cognizant. You’d honestly be wasting your time. If you’re looking for just a job and salary with no expectation of career progression, it might suit your requirement. The senior leadership are pathetic, lack integrity or a backbone. The standards set are ridiculously low. There associates are the filter feeders of the professional services industry. The deluded CEO will try to convince you they are operating in the winning circle. They all seem to live in a bubble and think they’re comparable to Accenture, IBM or the Big4.
