If an industry employer told me they would make a decision within 7-10 days of my interview, and yesterday was the 10th day but I didn’t hear anything. Is it safe to assume I did not get the job?

Do partners know each other’s compensation? I see partners selling engagements for vastly different numbers b/w shorter ‘interesting’ strategy work and longer ‘boring’ transformations. Thoughts?

How important is campus design and office aesthetic, and general internal branding and experience to you when choosing a job? Probably for jobs outside of FAANG - more like when you're feeling out the place. To me it matters a lot in terms of experience of it but also because it tends to show how forward thinking the company is.

Has anyone had any experience with Water Street Partners for lateral recruiting? Reached out to me cold with a few ideas and I’ve had two follow up emails and a call with an MD at reputable banks, but it all seems very sketchy. Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects). I’m just having second thoughts as exit opportunities aren’t as prevalent as I thought, the pay/benefits don’t match industry/risk of joint a startup, and I’m not getting the network of a Big4 or MBB
