Hi, rural Iowan here. Talk to me about seed selection and weather patterns. 😏😏 And it’s **soil science.
Animal science is huge. I interned for Cargill in college and I learned so much by visiting various offices and working with food scientists. There’s a huge amount of knowledge that goes into breeding, raising, and preparing animals that will taste good. There’s also a great deal of thought that goes into the slaughter, safety, and preparation of meat for consumers. It’s way more interesting than I ever thought, and the best part was that they allowed me to be a taste tester 😛.
Dirt science. Find someone who has did Future Farmers of America when they were growing up...they know SO MUCH about dirt. Also, they know so much about the process of produce selection and distribution...
I am pretty sure they have competitions in FFA on produce selection, and dirt...it is indeed a wild world out there
Wow. Yes poultry science and AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES in general are a thing. You really had know idea?
