I worked at M&M for years. The short version: overworked, underpaid, and toxic. Pro: always hiring/easy to get a job for experience.
It’ll depend a little whether you are on the presuit side or lit side. They revamped their PI dept quite heavily the last couple years. There’s tons of micromanaging but little support. Lots of people that don’t even handle cases to tell you do this, do that, do more of this, do more of that - and then you are just spinning your wheels. There are constant quotas and goals to reach (number of cases settled, attorney fees banked, etc). During the year of Covid there was a productivity score sent out every Friday department wide for all to see with how many cases you banked, demands sent, money made, etc. It ranked you in order of who was most productive to least productive. Then there are monthly reports with essentially the same info sent for everyone to see. So you’re constantly being scrutinized and compared to your colleagues.
Your experience will vary depending on the team you work on and the attorney you work under. Almost everyone in the office bitches and complains about their job, workload, and clients constantly.
It’s definitely a place to get a job if you want some experience, but not the best place to work long term. You are also not allowed to work remotely at all. You are in office 5 days per week.
My salary was around 45K (that was after working there 7 years) with bonus potential (with bonuses I made less than 55K).
I liked the attorney I worked under which is why I stayed as long as I did. I’ve been gone over a year and am so glad I left.
Newlin carries 300+ cases in litigation. Very very toxic — avoid at all costs. Strict on schedule, no WFH
Wow! I have heard horrible things from people that work there 😵 they say dont trust Glassdoor company reviews🫣 thank you for the insight, will avoid.
If you have experience you’ll do better at a small/mid size firm and way better work life balance.
