Apparently, academic experience doesn't count for much! I've been teaching in the field of biotech for 7 years, and because of reasons that are probably unnecessary to mention here, I've decided to quit my job in the university. I wanted to make sure i have a job before I do that, but it's been impossible to get one. Is it because of the fact that I don't have industry experience? Or am I not getting interviews because the general market is down? Would really appreciate any insights!

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate so much and feel very lucky to have a job BUT I am losing all the energy and excitement regardles of the project. Every day I struggle with going back to this consulting work. I just don't have the energy to focus (this is not the case for other things and side hustles). I manage to keep it down and deliver but I fear it's a matter of time until I fail. Trying to find an exit/job but had 1 interview in 3 months. I feel trapped and guilty for feeling this.

We Indians are so poor we can't think anything else except money. Whole Fishbowl is all about YOe and Salary. No one interested about if any company doing any innovation or not. B-Tech colleges put ads with Package and Campusing only. Almost 99% Indian YouTube thumbnail is like "5 lakh to 40 lakh", "Interview Experience in bracket 50Lpa" etc.. Hardly we can see Foreign Editorial things marked with Packages.
