Can’t keep running away from this. Eventually, majority of companies will be back in the office. I hate it too but it is what it is.
I’ll argue that over 30% of the US workforce is now freelancers due to wanting flexibility in work and that figure is projected to continue up to over 50% in the next 6 years. While major, long standing companies will revert to old ways, those with visionary will understand the benefits and capitalize on them, ultimately affecting the overarching culture and affecting change
USAA has a ton of fully remote positions if you want to stay in Finance. I’m also applying elsewhere. Recently my boss commented that I need to stay all day (not leave at lunch anymore 🙄) and that I really do have to be going in 3x/week next month.
Wish me luck in my interview tomorrow 🤞🏻
For the record, I have meetings with her in the mornings and she isn’t aware I leave at lunch. I have also taken off 1 day per week in the past 5/6 weeks and calling that my second in office day so really been going in 4 hours a week. But her comment has me assuming attendance metrics are being tracked / shared with managers.
Same here. Same reason why looking somewhere else
3 days? What's bad about that? Better than 4..
Good luck. I know there are companies still fully remote but can't imagine that any company will remain that way forever. It's been two years; they want us chained back in our cubicles.
If you want a large firm, you need to suck it up. BofA, Wells, Citi, JPM all will be 3 days a week. Im currently at BofA and looking to move to JPM. BofA doesn’t have an official policy yet, and from what I’ve been told JPM is 3 days in office, one day must be Monday or Friday.
Had an interview w Capital One. Position can be remote, catch is the pay is significantly lower than being in office. So companies are eventually catching up w the game.
That makes no sense to me. It saves them money not to have people in the office.
Just don't come in days you don't want to. It's that simple. If anyone has a problem then they will say it. If it's that important then keep doing it until they fire you. They probably won't and you will probably end up doing what you want
Parts of Barclays seem to be fully remote or show up 1 time a month
