Remember how you didn’t buy the dip when Covid started in March 2020 and always regretted it?

Well… chances are that you won’t buy into this dip either. I guess that’s just how we are…

There is really no need to bottom fish. Consistency is key to investing. Anyone who has been consistent in their investment process doesn’t really need to try to time the dips…it just doesn’t work.

I did the buy the dip, then sold near the top cause I realized stocks are for boomers

funnylike

No, I bought them in 2016-2017, but had to sell out cause I was broke and in college. Crypto’s doing ok but still pretty risky from an investment standpoint right now in my opinion.

Oh I'm going to buy the dip...i just know the dip had barely started, we're in for a rough couple of years

Buy the market when it’s actually on sale, not just when the price gouging stops. When COVID started, it was actually on sale (from a valuation standpoint). Right now, it’s not.

like

I bought SPY at the end of March 2020. Good time to buy. Sold too early in June 2020. I thought that Covid would get worse (it did) but the market got better. Times the market well at the bottom but not the top. Timing the market is a losing battle.

I bought the last dip, but now we’re buying a house so have no cash for this dip 😭.

likeuplifting

Nor for the house 😭😭

Buy the dip, that keeps dipping. 😆 Remember the phrase, don’t fight the FED. 2 years ago it meant don’t be a bear, today, don’t be a bull.

like

Who bought the dip? 👀😂

funny

You think it’s easy but watch it go down another 15-20% from here. All the dip buyers here will be burned.

like

Now imagine you bought at peak times. That’s even worse than not buying the dip. If we knew beforehand what the best time of investing is, we would all be rich.

I dont “buy the dip” as I’m always as invested as I can be.

Imagine buying Cisco dip at $66 back in Aug 2000. 😆

3.08% dividend yield on CSCO as of today, which I was not expecting.

Just keep DCAing. You won’t get peak profitability that you would if you bought the absolute dip but at least you won’t miss out and you won’t have worry about trying to time the market.

like

What dip?

like

You’re most likely right. My issue is that 2 years ago there was a dip due to people worried the world was ending.

This time around people are worried….Ah crap.

No seriously, it is different this time around. There are SO many factors beyond fear from investors.

But but that is what my 401k is for 😂

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.
