Luck of the draw. Having said that, a good majority of my fellow circuit clerks were a bunch of hardo gunners

Yes.

like

Yes. Youre isolated in chambers, don’t really interact with parties at all. You’re almost never in court. So it fits the description for “academics,” or, in other words, weirdos.

like

No. I got really lucky. My judge and co-clerks were thoroughly anti-gunner except for the one clerk straight out of law school. Competing against each other instead of working together to get the work done just didn’t serve anyone. We also had a lot of fun (karaoke, happy hours, birthdays, dinners, taking turns hosting everyone, etc.).

Quick PSA: one of the perks of going in-house, is that you’re no longer at an ad agency and all that that entails.

Just started a new in-house tech fl gig and it’s giving me whiplash! Somehow this dept has brought every person/toxic behavior from their old agency just to a new environment. Nowhere is perfect but good god. I honestly think companies/HR could learn a lot about their depts from freelancers.

I’m reviewing my resume getting ready to start my job search and have a question for recruiters, hiring managers. I’m looking for a role brand-side not agency side. Specialist roles aside, such as digital, when you see someone describing themselves as a “generalist marketer” is this a resume you’d pass on? My past roles have been such that I do a lot of marketing projects, tasks etc. but I’m not a specialist. I’m worried if I use this terminology I won’t even be considered for a role. Thank you

2) go do consulting for a few years
3) any other recommendations?

Thanks!

Need advice on a specific question!
Interviewed with Chicago court 2 weeks ago; they decide mid-August. Interviewed with DC judge last week; hear from him by this Friday. Chicago said if I need an answer before August, they'd try to make a decision about me sooner.
Should I ask Chicago for an answer? Or should I wait until there's an offer from DC judge? Maybe seems better to withdraw before an offer is made rather than ask for time to think about it/turn down DC? What's proper etiquette?
