Are any admins expected to serve and clean up lunch? I personally was surprised admins are still doing this.

For me, not usually. If there is a very important meeting with clients, I will have a hand in it, so I know everything is running smoothly for my exec. It also helps me to know if there is an issue so I can do something about it right away. For all other lunches, I ask our office assistant to help out with setup and clean up.

In a past AA job it was a yes. I think it all depends on your support level and other staffing in the office. AA/EA jobs are not all one size fits all.

It’s really really not right

like

No but I know what you mean. Recently there was an office party at my job and I unknowingly volunteered to help pick up a little as I was leaving. No one else picked up after themselves. I then felt obligated to finish cleaning up.

Depends where you work. They do like to treat us like personal servants

depends if the company has office assistants. if understaffed, i would help out so then i know the room is clean for my client meeting, if i had one next

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?

Hey! I’m new here and would like some input. I’ve been working in a new position for almost 5 months. In that time I’ve witnessed some unethical and lots of unprofessional behavior. I’ve been yelled at and berated by my coworker 3 separate times because of minor errors. I’m ready to quit. There are so many major issues in this company that I don’t know if I want to subject my mental health to this degree of toxicity. I just don’t know how to move forward from here.

Anyone have ideas for jobs that are a mix between administration and clinical work? I am in the process of finding administrative assistant interns from our local universities. In an effort to make my job opportunity appealing, I am asking everyone in this bowl about an appropriate job title. Is "Administrative Assistant" outdated or unappealing? I certainly don't want to mislead anyone on the job responsibilities, but I do want to avoid any potential negative stereotypes attached to that job title. Are there alternative titles that you find more appropriate for 2022?

Happy Wednesday everyone. I'm so excited, I have a recruiter call scheduled with @Meta for Administrative Partner position. I've been in my current employer role for 19 years and I'm nervous as heck. I haven't had to do an interview in so long. Can someone please tell me what to expect with the recruiter call? I'm assuming it will be mostly about the role, my skills and background? Do they ask salary expectations? I have no idea what to say for the salary question. Feedback appreciated. Thanks

If you have to schedule multiple 1:1s between your exec and other execs, what process for scheduling do you use? Do you send individual emails to each exec’s AA/EA with availability included or do you send a mass email to all the needed AAs/EAs with availability included?
