It’s always better to see a PT. A chiropractor will do their best to provide temporary fixes so you have to come back to them. PT’s actually try to fix the problem fully.
I think a chiropractor can give temporary relief almost like a massage, but they are not providing therapeutic value like PT. They also are importantly not credentialed like other healthcare clinicians.
That being said, if it works for you, don’t let me yuck your yum! Everyone’s body is different. I just wouldn’t tout it as magically healing and the science doesn’t support its benefits

Every MAHA influencer I've seen spew misinformation is a chiropractor. That's all the anecdotal insight I need.

Maybe read it slowly? I can't help you here.

Somewhere in between, but more toward psychics than actual MDs.

You sure about that?
There are literally no requirements to be a psychic.
Chiropractors require a doctorate (undergrad plus minimum 4,200 specific instructional hours), passing the NCBE exam and state licensing.
I understand the dislike for chiro, but psychic is nowhere close. They're close to a psychologist, not psychic....massive difference.

They're real doctors.
The issue with chiro is that you can't test results the same way as other types of medicine, so they're not welcome in that club.
Black chiros are out there, but it's a unique business to pursue. It's typically not covered by insurance, so would (on average) be a significant discretionary expense for black households. Combine that with the CK followers who see a black professional and immediately question if they're even qualified, and now you've got a smaller addressable market than your average white chiro. Unless I knew of a particularly underserved or accessible market that I could build a client base from, I'd just pursue a different type of medicine.

And another point, what makes a "real" doctor anyway? Doctor is a status earned by education, nothing else. A surgeon is a role and the degree is one of the many requirements, same for physician, gyno, neuro, veterinarian and the many other types of doctors. There's no shift in topic, folks are just moving the goalposts on the definition of doctor. If you need a physician, you go to a physician, not a "doctor".
You can also see a DO, (Doctor of Osteopathic med, vs an MD), who are true physicians and can do manipulations
I also thought chiropractors are not real doctors ( I still do).
But my wife have a very positive experience with a chiropractor helping with her back pain. We tried traditional doctors first. For her condition PT did not help with pain management. Doctors only option is to prescribe painkillers.
Then we met a 75 year old Chiropractor who has been practicing for 30 + years. After three sessions her pain levels are down 80 to 90% . Now she can continue doing PT or other strengthening exercises.
So I would say it does not have to be one or the other. Take help from Chiropractor for managing immediate pain relief to get on with your daily life and continue doing the PT for longer term rehabilitation.
After our recent experience, I would say try a chiropractor before you get on a regiment of painkillers/ injections or choosing operation from a traditional doctor.

I view them similar to a masseuse. They don’t really solve anything but can provide temporary relief.
Yes they’re quacks, any idiot off the street can become a chiro
No one’s made a “black don’t crack” joke?!
(Since Chiropractors crack your back…)
🤣🤣🤣🤣
They are masseuse with better clothes but no happy ending.

If you haven’t searched for “Russian Chiropractor fails” on YouTube you really should

I think i touched a nerve 🤣
I swear by chiro and the EY medical plan covers 20 visits a year
On a scale of 0 to 10, they’re about a 5.
Not doctors lmao. Less than PTs. More like masseuses.
My chiropractor is a black female and she's amazing. She's sort of a mix of PT and chiropractor.

They are not real doctors. Chiropractic is the literal definition of quackery.
My chiropractor is black. In fact entire staff is black.
