“I see a lot of myself in you” 😭😭😭
I had interviewed with Deloitte UK consulting in June/July and was called by the HR team by the end of July that the interviews were positive and they're sending for approval for an offer to be rolled out. I was called back later in September and told that the role is on hold due to a hiring freeze. Is anyone else in this situation and have you'll heard back from the HR team post that
Do you think most cops are conservative?
Good morning. I am currently a senior associate in BugLaw, and I have applied to several trial attorney jobs in Chicago offices of federal agencies since the start of the pandemic. According to usajobs.gov, my applications to the DOJ and CFTC were “referred,” and my application to the SEC was received and my GS scale verified. But I haven’t received any updates on these applications in over a month. Does anyone here have any insights on these or on federal hiring generally? Thanks!

Our charter school is legally bound to provide resource services based on individual student needs. We are a public school and belong to our local school district. We operate in full accordance with IDEA exactly like any of the neighborhood public schools. I am supervised by and held accountable to all the same standards as any other special education teacher in the district.
To the New Jersey teacher who laughed at my factual comment...I have reported you.
If anything we are more under a microscope. Our charter may not be renewed if our sped students don't show growth.
No, not our charter school. Maybe others. I don’t know.
Our private and charter schools don't accept kiddos with special needs, especially my population - multiple disabilities. It's all about test scores!
IDEA is federal law so I’m just guessing that nobody has bothered to sue them yet.
My daughter is special needs and goes to a charter school. They have met her needs completely. They have gone above and beyond to make sure that she is accommodated. But that is just my personal experience.
Some yes, we have an open lottery
I think our local one has a lottery as well. However, it is my understanding that there is a review process and that the school can reject students based upon grade criteria, etc. Maybe there's some "weeding out" in that process, sadly.
Is that also a part of your lottery process?
In the area I teach in, the private and charter schools refer students to their neighboring public schools for evaluations, and if they qualify for services, the public school has to write the IEP and provide services in qualifying areas. If the charter/private school keeps the referred student, they are required to meet accommodations as outlined in the student's IEP. The funding stays with the charter/private school even when the public school supplies the SPED services.
