Get the struggle—cold calling can feel so awkward. What’s helped me is keeping it casual but clear: a quick intro, why I’m reaching out, and how I could be useful on future projects. If you can reference something they’ve worked on, even better. Keep it short and don’t stress about making it perfect. Also just being polite and professional goes a long way!

I totally get you, that's why we call it "cold outreach", no one is prepared for it. You can do two things: Try to warm connections by reaching out to people on those places on LinkedIn to try to learn more about them.. or keep on cold calling, which is the less effective way, but works in numbers, the more you d,o the more you get confident and have a chance. For what to say, you could go like: “Loved your recent project on X. I’m a [your role] with experience in Y, and I’d love to collaborate if anything’s in motion.”
Yes I find whenever I mention a certain job the employer completed, I feel like the phone call goes on for much longer- they ask me more questions and I find that I’m also asking more questions about the department!
I try to find something specific to start on, so it isn’t just a generic opening. Maybe include something I’ve worked on or interested in too. The point is that you are getting your name and work out so even if you don’t get anything right now you might be in mind for something else down the road. Second what was said about being polite and professional!!
I feel you cold outreach in the entertainment can be awkward! Try treating it more like casual intro than a pitch. Short, friendly, and super tailored. Start with a quick line on why I’m reaching out then one sentence on who I am and how I can help, followed by a soft ask! The key is keeping it human and not salesy.
What do you do I'm professional entertainer I'm a recording artist, Singer-Songwriter, Producer, actress and content creator. I also run my own production company. I say all that to say that depending upon what type of work I'm looking for determines the approach.
In the Entertainment Industry it's all about relationships and how well you market what you do. In the Entertainment industry its important to note that people in this business work with who they know and people who are endorsed and reffered.
When you do proceed to make cold calls find out who do you need to speak with directly to present yourself and your work too and let them know you're intested in working with them. Good luck to you i hope this helped.
