I was in the same boat two years back and i still hate my decision of choosing ZS , go to TCS digital, do coding if you are good at it and then switch after 2 years , 13.5 is inclusive of your relocation joining bonus elrp and all , your base pay will be 8.5 only , go for digital, it's start of career don't waste your time doing something that will not help you grow , u will be stucked in Excel in ZS
You have 2 options short term quick money with bad wlb, less job security or less money for next 1-2 years but with relatively much better wlb.
Here you will get the time to learn the skills and become good developer then you can switch and can make much more money than zs.
At the end no one can take this decision for you..
You have to decide what you want are you comfortable in working more than 12 hrs.
If answer is yes then welcome to this prision a. k. a Zs associates. 😅
The package difference is 2x and still you need people's opinions. Of course work life balance is bad in ZS but seriously you are comparing it to TCS offer
Yeah job security is better for sure. ZS is bad nowadays but still try something outside of TCS as the growth is very slow. Aim for some product companies. If you join ZS, it will be easy to negotiate your package while switching. As far as the role goes you will learn excel and SQL in ZS and nothing more in the tech stack usually.
My thoughts are completely different from many. As you said TCS digital role you can get developer related projects this may vary from person to person and your carrer will be really good after 2 or 3 years if you switch company.. Provided if you learn there additionally from your projects.. I know my close frnd who joined tcs with 3.6 and converted to digital in 6 months through internal exams and worked for 1.5 years with nice wlb and moved to another firm with 17lpa developer role. And I started in ZS and now my pay is around 13lpa with no WLB and nothing in life except excel.. Also I know many of my frnds who started with digital and are in good companies now with good WLB far better than my wlb.. So decide yourself and make choice wisely. . Don't go with salary instead go with the nature of work and work satisfaction. This will help in long run

Ex zs manager here. Quality of life is very poor at zs. They also just layed off hundreds of folks a few months ago.
Join TCS regardless of salary.
There is zero job security and zero wlb in zs. Plus if consulting is not your ambition... ZS is pointless.

Go with TCS. The starting salary in ZS is good. You will definitely join here only I know
1. Up or out policy
2. Projects can be very irrelevant and not so much scope for learning
3. Switching for profiles like prodman, banking is better than switching to companies in consulting when you a BTSA or DAA

As a ZSer, choose any place over ZS. Your life will be fucked. You're still young and don't have any responsibility. Don't join ZS 1000% not recommended

But while choosing a project in tcs be very cautious, ask for dev projects only.
I was also from tcs,just switched to another product based company.
Started in late 2020 at 3.36 lpa
After 1 year i got promoted to tcs digital cadre with a package of 8 lpa
Now after having exp of 2.4 years switched to a product based company at 20 lpa
So tcs is good if u are getting digital cadre, but just be cautious while telling yes to any project before onboarding.
As there are lots of crap projects in tcs. Though u are digital hire so they will try to accommodate u in a good project but u should be cautious from your side as well.
U will get a lot of time to learn by yourself in tcs other than your project work.
You're fresher.. Don't think even think job security now.. Go in ZS and learn grill and leave after 2 years.
What's the difference in base ? I guess zs has base of 8.5 and CTC is bloated( you don't get all of bonus in first year)
Go for ZS, but 1 saal me chor dena kisi bhi haal me, within this much time you won't be working for long hours and itne me acha experience bhi add ho jayga profile me.
Go for TCS digital, all this money offered by ZS looks good in the start but 6-8 months down the line you will definitely regret it. You won't even get time to have 3 meals a day, you would even feel tired during weekends because of working 12-14 hrs a day for the whole week. You will only develop Excel skills and maybe SQL/Python if you are lucky enough to get that type of project
I know money matters but at ZS it is sort of slavery
Go for TCS, you will get enough time to prepare for exams or for switching to a better organisation
ZS should always be the last option if consulting isn't what you are looking for.
