What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.

No, because OPSEC has taught me not yo go around telling a bunch of people that I work for or with the government. Even when/if I felt it okay to share that information in a casual setting it always depended on where I was. If I'm in an area heavy with federal jobs then people almost expected it and we're more surprised when you weren't a contractor, Fed, or someone in the military. So, must be the people y'all are dealing with.
Was just coming here to say this. I don't really tell people I work for the government for many reasons but what you explained is one of them. People don't need to judge me based on how they feel about the government.
Yes mostly in casual settings but yes.
Yes, I'm seeing this too. It depends on the crowd, but I’ve had people either shut down or get way too interested for the wrong reasons.
