I just left a very toxic work place.
The crazy thing is they were just named the best local municipality to work for. It's upsetting. They advertise a "culture" but don'tapply it. It felt like a used car sales pitch, I was sold a dream but given junk. I am constantly replaying moments. I have read so many books and everything leads to they were the problem. How do I recover from this?

I work for a large municipality in Texas. I have been loyal to my employer for almost two decades. Yet, this hasn't stopped them from punishing me for refusing to follow a policy that violated my beliefs. I now have a disciplinary action that will remain in my file for the remainder of my employment. So, I understand a toxic work environment. I think, while everything is still fresh, the scenes will continue to replay in your head. Unfortunately, I think most companies are this way. They have policies in place to appear above board and many attorneys on staff or retainer to defend them when they're caught not above board. Take some time to look after yourself. When you're ready for a new job, look at a job search site like g l a s s d o o r. c o m, and research each company's reviews and salaries for positions you're interested in. This will give you insight into each company's internal culture. And don't change your ethics. They got you this far. If you're spiritual, pray to your creator to carry you through. My Creator has helped me tremendously with the tips I have listed and in developing myself. I wish you well. Blessings.

Hi everyone! I have been in my current role as an EA at a financial institution for about a year and a half now. I would love to find a 100% remote role as a mid level EA at a company with an awesome work culture. I think I’m ready to be challenged again, I find myself bored in my current role… I’m open to any industry but would love to get into tech. If anyone knows of any openings I would really appreciate it! I’m located on the East coast currently. TIA

My partner got a City of Toronto offer. Salary band is 104-121k. HR asked for his expectations and he said 115k. HR came back with a 106k offer stating nobody on the team makes that much so they cant offer it. Also said she is unsure if there is any wiggle room if any at all. I’ve looked at everyone on the team with the same titles salary on the sunshine list and the lowest I see is 121k. I assume there is an OT component of some sort but also can’t confirm. Thoughts? /negotiating advice?
