Asking CPA’s that moved to another company from Public Accounting. How did you report the CPE’s the NJ State Board, that was earned while at Public Accounting firm?

The NJ board doesn’t require you to submit proof of CPE at renewal. You only need to affirm compliance. You should ask your former employer to provide a report of your CPEs and certificates of completion for your records. Then, keep track of your CPE on your own and save all certificates earned post PA employment. You’ll only need to provide these if you’re audited by the state. The only caveat is claiming CPE for instructing or authoring. If you have any of these types of CPE you’ll need to get prior approval from the board before you claim them as part of your compliance.
