Haynes and Boone

likefunny

When I look at attrition numbers, Haynes and Boone Dallas does very well. People just don’t leave like they do at other firms.

I get very few complaints out of Sidley Dallas or Gibson Dallas.

like

What do you think this is attributable to? Better WLB in general, better culture, better training, etc.?

I’ll second Haynes and Boone. We also rarely if ever seen associates leave Jackson Walker for other firms. Sophisticated work and strong, positive culture.

Hi guys what is the expected from CTC for 4 years experience in .net + react js

Hi all. I’m finishing up school and looking to start applying for jobs in tech, I’m going for computer science, what range of salary should I expect going into this field?

How much do tech recruiters make? You know, the ones that harass you with copy/pasted messages through email and LinkedIn.

Do they make salary or is it based on successful hires?

Strategies for getting a job at Wieden + Kennedy:

1. Create a competitive shop that will steal all of their clients in the future, forcing them to acquire you today.
2. Become friends with every person at the agency and have them all refer you on the same day.
3. Just win all of the awards.
4. Start showing up to their office with big ideas, and complain about HR not being able to find you in the system occasionally.

Hi, what does the typical career path look like in Tax at EY UK? Thanks.

Hi, for new employees- does any one know here how much time Ey background is taking currently outside Uk?

Ive accepted an offer going from a SM role to M role at EY in the CCas team , London office. Can anyone confirm how often one needs to come into the office, as my commute is from Hampshire . In my current role I rarely go to the office, i.e once every few months (also in London) and am considering backing out due to the additional commuting cost and less flexible work life balance.

I just started meds yesterday and the change in my focus and attention to detail is mind blowing. My only concern is, just yesterday I had a tough feedback session with my manager around how I’m taking too long to complete my work, giving them anxiety around close deadlines. I’m new in the job (3 months in). Should I explain anything about my adhd to my manager or just wait for them to notice the change in me?

An agency I freelance for wants to hire me full-time. They told me for a Sr Copywriter, 100-110k. I countered with 125-150.

I also said I'm interested in a higher-level title - I currently freelance as a Creative Director of Copy elsewhere (they don't have that title at this agency.)

They came back and said yes to the title and to 125, with a 6 month review that could raise it to 145.

Which is good for Sr Copy, but low for CD/ACD level. Don't want to screw myself over. What to say now?

I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. I’m a 4th-year at a midsize firm doing mostly oil and gas work, but I’m looking to change practice areas so I can get away from a dying/morally problematic industry and move into EC/VC, Corporate, tech transactions, and/or privacy and cybersecurity (have CIPP/US & /E). I’m not having much luck with recruiters or applying directly to firms and companies, so I’m thinking of hiring a career coach to help me hone my applications, cover letters, etc. Any suggestions?
