At first, AI assisted coding felt exciting because of how quickly ideas could turn into working features. But over time, I started noticing that speed sometimes comes at the cost of understanding the deeper architecture behind the code. Fixing issues inside logic that was rapidly generated can end up taking far longer than writing critical parts manually from the start. Are we building sustainable software with these tools, or just creating faster layers of technical debt?

Or maybe we should discuss the irony that groups like this exist because AI is putting everyone out of work.

Everyday there's always news on how it's replacing little percentage of a workforce

Very fair question. And good insight. I haven’t noticed too much of that but can see how it could occur

Thank you

From the QA tester perspective over time it can cause bugs that humans wouldn’t have created. Any testing it creates will pass. If the developer is analyzing the code and the tester is analyzing the tests it created and both add or make changes to make sure it is 100% then it could be as good as before AI, but blindly putting out what it gives you and using on its test there will eventually cause bugs.

I just got engaged on Sunday (!!) and my ring is just a little big. I’m reading online that most jewelers won’t resize a rose gold ring. Has anyone had any issues with this? I could go back to the family jeweler who designed the ring and would do it for free but the ring was designed in Michigan and I live in Chicago. Is it worth it to drive to Michigan to get it taken care of there?

I received an offer for 80k to work as a desktop engineer for TCS at one of their client’s locations. However, I have seen poor reviews for working at TCS and I’d like to get some feedback from anyone currently or had previously worked for that company. What is the environment like and has anyone been in a situation where the contract with TCS and the client ended and had trouble with TCS finding them a new role at the same pay?

Getting ready to leave my role - looking for community ops, comm ops, member support, account management - anything in those customer facing roles that is paying minimum 75k. Remote preferred, based in Chicago. Background in freight/logistics and healthcare.

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
