Back in February this year I started working in a care home as a Care Assistant for the elderly. For context I’m 18. At the start of April I was pulled into the managers office for a “meeting” — where there was lots of questionable things asked and mentioned by the manager. They told me that due to my age my pay was being reduced. Is this legal? Carers, in Scotland, UK, get extra pay due to delivering direct care and the job being hard and heavy. I’m trying to think if I should escalate this?!

How early is too early to ask for a raise?

Hey fishes, recently got an offer of 245k plus a bonus, but no specificity and at least 3% cost of living annual raise. My current job I make 150k plus a 20% bonus and an annual cost of living raise anywhere from 2-3.5%. Have been in my current position about a year. Things have been a bit bumpy (not a me issue) I have a new supervisor and was recently given 7 direct reports (I had zero before). The new position while comes with a significant raise is a move to California. Any thoughts?

We're not sure what those incentives look like yet, but here are some post-announcement rumors from my co-workers:
