Been a cook at restaurants for over 4 years, looking to pivot into admin/office assistant or anything that isn't so hard on the body. Got experience with HTML/CSS/JS, learned some stuff in 3d modeling, Good with Office360/Google's suite. Good with customer service on the phone and in person, did that for a while too. Trying to decide where I should go.

I recommend you learn a trade. Many companies are outsourcing administration roles. Trades can be physical but less physical than cooking and restaurant work. You could also consider Healthcare administration. There are free programs on some states. Good luck.

At least in Colorado Springs, Colorado there is a workforce center and there are applications for them to help you pay for training services! Hope this helps

Practiced self control today. Went to my AD to pick up my wife’s new watch and did not purchase a watch for myself. I did try on the peacock, which looks amazing in person. They also had a ming 17.09 and the SLA037 that tempted me. I think that calls for extra drinks tonight.

Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

I’ve been with my company for 8+ yrs, I love my manager and the work I do (engagement, recognition, & wellness programs) but I feel like I’m limiting myself since I have the experience, an HRM degree, and SHRM-CP credentials.

Should I apply for roles outside the company?

Joining a big firm next week as fully remote lateral and flying out to home office for orientation. The schedule has me in office until 4:15. I’ve already been told I won’t have any actual work. Depending on how many people are there and how it feels, I was planning to stay an hour extra but should I hang around the office until later? First time visiting this city so it’d be great to take in some sights too (although that’s not a priority of course).

Studied accounting and finance but worried about the future of this profession. Currently working in Forensic Consulting but want to leave. Should I go back to undergrad and get a computer science degree? I honestly want a career where I could at least potentially make 600 k per year. I feel in accounting it’s near impossible. Additionally, I’m sick of people looking down on me. My gf is getting a PhD in a social science and gets way more respect then me. I am 25 also. HELP

Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.

TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)

TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)

Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon
