Being a patrolling officer is so fun. You get in your car in the morning and never know what you’re going to encounter or who you’re going to meet. Does anyone have any good stories?

It is one of the things I like about my job, one day will never be the same as another.

It's something great about our work as patrolmen, we don't have a routine, really sometimes I think about office work and I instantly get bored, I'm a street policeman and I love what I do.

It is totally true, you never know what you are going to get, once I got an emergency call to help an elderly lady who had problems with her son when I got to the site the lady told me that her son did not want to give her money and I was quite upset, I went to talk to her son and the boy told me that the lady has problems with drugs and that's why she didn't give her money so she wouldn't buy, the world upside down.

Once I found myself with a crime in progress, some gentlemen robbed a store while I was on duty and buying water, they were a couple of about 50 years old, with masks and toy guns, I stopped them and when I saw that they were stealing they were diapers I went to the car where they came from and they had a pair of twins, I still stopped them but I bought the diapers and gave them to them.

Every day you get something new, but because I was a patrolman I met my girlfriend, she called almost every day because of the problem of boys who entered her store and stole, I basically started the day by going to her store first and arresting the usual guys, that was constant for 1 year until I asked her out, they keep robbing the store but now I have a girlfriend.

Once something very curious happened to me, the central office called me and sent me to a house that I thought was always alone, the neighbors complained about a lot of noise during the night, I arrived at the house and it was closed, two weeks later they did it again the call and I got to the house, the same thing happened, no one ever came out, I decided to persist and call for a long time, no one ever came out, a person who was passing by told me that there was no one, that the house was abandoned, due to a murder that had occurred several decades ago.

Went for a pre-employment drug test yesterday. They never asked me if I was on any medications. I had to ask them and was told "oh yeah, just put any you may think make a difference in this text box." I put Xanax, Flexeril, and gabapentin. All of which are prescribed and used as directed. Now I'm terrified that I should have put ALL my meds, to including my psych meds. I've been sober over 12 years and never touched drugs (just booze) but I'm having a full blown panic attack.
