Arrived at a SPG property last week and had email confirmation and booking in the app but hotel didn’t have it - manager blamed merger IT issues, anybody else experienced this recently?
80 degrees and my account doesn't work in my Westin room. Can't sleep. Had an engineer come "fix" it last night but it's still broken, and they don't have any fans.
Was able to book 6 nights at the St Regis Maldives, Overwater Villa. 140K SPG points (so 420K New Marriott points)
Almost 4 weeks in and my status is still wrong. It was correct for the first ~1 day and then bumped down a level. Shouldn’t be hard as all my nights last year were SPG. This is ridiculous.
Does anyone have two different statuses right now? I’m Platinum Premier in Marriott but only Platinum Elite in SPG.
Best Marriott or SPG property in Phuket? Ritz isn’t available but most else are. Looking for relaxing beach trip for 3 or 4 nights. Platinum elite but want to go off property for meals too. Thanks!
My MD makes joke yet subtle jab about my expenses. My reply: wait does this mean I can’t book Westin anymore?
Why the actual f are suite upgrades not something that occurs automatically anymore? I’m at an empty Westin with like 4 suites available and they upgrade you to a room with a “different view” SMH
Bought The W hotel room spray so my weekend home smells like my M-Th home #AssBackwards
Dumb newbie traveler question. I had the nuts from the mini bar in my room. Should I tell them when I check out or will they send me a updated folio? Staying at an SPG.
I have 71 bonvoy nights accumulated. Should I just book the cheapest room I can find for 3 nights and hit 75?
Planning to travel during Thanksgiving (super late in planning as usual) any fun recos- travelling from Chicago have boatloads of AA and Bonvoy points to burn. 7-8 nights
Anyone know how the elite years are calculated for Marriott/SPG respectively? Just want to know when’s the best time to combine accounts
I was platinum lifetime marriott... on the spg app, i now show gold lifetime. That should show Platinum lifetime right?
Does anyone know how I can speak with someone more senior at SPG? The customer service I’ve encountered is completely unacceptable and I’m tired of being put on hold for 20 minutes with no solution

Do Bonvoy points always expire after 12 months, regardless of what tier you make? Coming off of IHG and those did not expire at EOY.
Do you feel safe wearing scrubs in public?
Deloitte fishes - how does it look switching across sectors as a new experienced hire? For example if I was in consumer product and want to go to Life Sciences and Healthcare or if I was in Life Sciences and went to TMT, is that frowned upon? Don’t want to lose my current network and have to start “new” elsewhere but I don’t really like my current sector
Have to work with a first year soon who complains about literally everything under the sun. First year has already complained about me to other coworkers. We haven't even worked together yet. Tips?
What is the pay range for IT/operations for PE firms like Blackstone & KKR? Most likely in New York or Bay Area

Third year transactional associate here trying to get into litigation work. Any advice on useful resources/ways to get litigation experience and make a successful transition? My firm is pretty inflexible when it comes to doing work in a different practice area so I’ve had no real chance to actually get involved in any litigation matters despite asking. Transactional is definitely not my thing, though. Pretty much on my own here and any advice is much appreciated.
