Hi All,
I have joined cognizant yesterday. I came to know that office location is bantala in Kolkata. I do not want to work in bantala location. I have talked with my recruiter. But hs said offer location is decided on project allocation. How can I change the location to other location? If I leave the job will it be any problem?

If you’re one day in culver 1 day downtown I’d probably live in culver. You can train in actually super easily.
I live in silver lake and love it here though. I almost never get in my car for restaurants. Very walkable, and I’m not sure why someone else is saying it’s not top tier for diversity of food, I’d consider the restaurants to be amazing and I’ve lived in Santa Monica and lived in Chicago 5 years before here as well.
That said, the day you have to culver will be probably a 45+ min commute. IMO SL is much better than culver, but culver puts you much closer to the west side and Inglewood which is really nice for concerts and events. If I were you I’d probably just do culver, but you might want to consider Ktown as well.

I never even mentioned Silverlake in relation to food.
Mid-city, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, Ktown, or Culver City would all be good options for you

Diverse in what way? I don’t consider Silverlake racially diverse but if you want an LGBT friendly place then it’s a good spot. Silverlake is walkable but also hilly. Culver City has alot of young professionals and is walkable in my opinion.

Well there are a few tech companies surrounding Culver City and more to come but that doesn’t mean only tech people live there. I know someone in IB and a lawyer living there. It’s hard to gauge which professions live there without living there and getting to know people.
Where will you be working? Culver City is not great to commute to or from.
I was born and raised in Pasadena. The west side is foreign and complicated to me. I'd rather drive to Palm Springs than somewhere like Venice or Culver City.
