There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

2012 Sr Associate. Left my firm in February after being recruited by a partner I used to work for, and it turns out I’m not very happy. Difficult people, terrible schedule and ruined vacations so far. A partner at my old firm in another group has asked if I would come back to work for just him. I liked working for him, we have great rapport and I could do permanent WFH since he is in another city. I don’t want to burn bridges, would this be a bad idea? Or an easy decision?

2. Have your school go fully remote for the entire fall semester

How do you let a director know it’s really not professional to keep re-scheduling the meeting? This is the 4th time a new time is proposed. And it’s one of my pet peeves.

Was at dinner with my mom yesterday and we got into an argument about me not wanting to tell her how much my salary is. I had no problem telling my parents right out of college but just feel kind of weird about it as I progress in my career. She said I am getting a big head and I replied that the exact reason I don’t want to tell her how much I make is because I don’t want to brag/ have a big head.
