Jordan, Seghesio, and Ridge are the three big producers I like in the area. I can’t confirm what their tasting experiences are like.

like

Ridge has a very nice tasting program at their Lytton springs winery. Primarily zin focused but you can also try library releases of monte bello (their flagship wine).

if you like Pinot WS is a must. You need to be in mailing list to visit but should be easy to join. Other good Pinot producers in that area are emeritus, Lynmar, rochioli, and occidental.

For sparkling, iron horse has a good selection and nice views. IMO, schramsberg on other side of valley is better sparkling but a longer drive.

On the way there if you stop in Sonoma please taste at Bedrock. Morgan’s wine is incredible and there is a good mix of red, white, sparkling on the tasting list.

Brigadeiro are scrumptious dulce de leche caramel bonbons, a beloved confection of Brazil. Brigadeiro is made from sweetened condensed milk, butter, and cocoa powder which is heated in a saucepan until it thickens and becomes a sticky caramel. Once it cools, it is rolled into a ball and dipped in multicolored sprinkles.

The iconic bonbon was named after Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, a 1946 presidential candidate. It was created to win voter support. (He lost).

Tried this Santorini retailing for $40. Very concentrated but can’t say I was blown away by it. Volcanic terroir dominates almost to the point of obscurity, and it had strong lemon notes, hints of quince, and sea salt. It clashed with Mexican food (hey I knew that beforehand but didn’t think it would clash THAT bad, and usually pair Mexican with Riesling or Gewürztraminer) but I’m going to Greece soon and wanted to drink Greek wine. I drank half at a BYOB, took the bottle home(cont’d)
