I need a new rec on a consistently good daily red. $20-30/bottle price point - I tend to go for Sangiovese, Chianti, and Pinot Noir. Thoughts?

Why not Rioja? Solid bottles in that price range.

I’ve tried 1 or 2. Just always gravitated a bit towards Tuscany.

Nonetheless, I’ll take the rec if you’ve got one!

But Felsina is a good Chianti producer in that range.

Do you ever buy bottles to hold/age them and resell?

Any advice for how to transport wine during a move (1,000 miles driving)? There’s only about 15 bottles i actually care about from my collection - I’ll probably end up just drinking the other 30 by the time we move.

Did some tasting today! Reeve in Sonoma.

Riesling night tonight. ‘17 Weinbach Cuvée Colette. Nice austere classic dry Riesling from the Schlossberg appellation. Bright lemony acidity with the unique granite terroir undertone of the region. Green apples, orange peel, gooseberries. Still very young

Tried this Santorini retailing for $40. Very concentrated but can’t say I was blown away by it. Volcanic terroir dominates almost to the point of obscurity, and it had strong lemon notes, hints of quince, and sea salt. It clashed with Mexican food (hey I knew that beforehand but didn’t think it would clash THAT bad, and usually pair Mexican with Riesling or Gewürztraminer) but I’m going to Greece soon and wanted to drink Greek wine. I drank half at a BYOB, took the bottle home(cont’d)
