It will be sent back to the states, where it belongs. I read somewhere, but I can't remember where, that the federal government will still be doing block grants. I went to school through the 1970s, and we learned more then than kids do today. We also weren't tested to death. All this testing can go away and just have a competence test for graduation. We should also bring back all the home economics and shop classes, too.

Okay, thanks
It’s hard enough to get what we need for our students as it is. If federal funding disappears, what happens to Title I schools? Special education programs? Teacher salaries? It’s impossible not to be nervous.
I've read that the biggest impact of losing the Education Department would be in the poorer states that don't adequately fund their educational systems. It's essentially the red states that need the federal funding. But the long term goal of the conservatives is, of course, the elimination of public education. Expect to be hearing even more about how the educational system is to blame for just about any problem in society.
Luckily, most public schools only rely on Federal funding for a small portion of their budgets, but is not insignificant. It will be especially hard for districts that rely on Title I funding.
Not surprising, it would affect lower income areas disproportionately. Right out of the playbook.
Rising Star
And special ed services. 35-40 million kids will be affected between Title1 and sped- not insignificant at all.

You wanna know what? At this point, no one has any of the answers. I am going to do what I have always done.
Teach.
If they really want my job, I dare them to try doing it. 😂
