Congrats! I think between now and the one year mark you should focus on locking down all your other vendors. Photographer is probably the next most important one because styles vary, and you want your pick before they get booked up. Then you can book your florist, DJ/band, videographer, etc. Once you have your photographer you can book an engagement photo session with them (maybe in the spring/summer for some good weather) and then use those photos to send out save the dates. Have fun!!!

Does your venue include catering? If not, that’s the next one to lock down. Your DJ / band and photographer should be next. Basically if vendors can only do 1 event a day, they’ll be the most important to book well in advance

Agreed with the above! Also don’t forget about wedding dress for too long… I ordered my dress 9 months out which was too late for some dresses that they specifically hid from me for that reason. For reference mine will take 6 months to come in, and they allow for 3 months of alterations.

like

My dress said they would take 6 months but it’s turning out to be 11 months just for it to arrive!! Definitely try to order your dress 1 year out

This one is very tricky. We can't really be sure about the exact date of its arrival. It's so stressful.

If you don’t have a planner, you need to create a checklist and absolutely make sure you get everything done. Also make sure your checklist is broken down as much as possible.
Dress
Veil
Shoes
Caterer- appetizers, main
Who’s providing flatware, silverware, glassware etc
Alcohol
Cake
Who’s responsible for cutting the cake. I totally forgot to assign this and most guests didn’t get to eat the cake.
Rings
Hair stylist
Make up
Bridesmaids proposal
Bridesmaids dresses
Flower girl dress
Ring bearer suit
Groomsmen suits
Videographer
Photographer
DJ
Decorator/florist
And lots more.

My planner used an app called Aisle planner. This app was amazing.

We booked our venue that far out and then got the rest of the vendors and my dress in the next six months. We also made a tentative guest list at that time and asked the wedding party members to be in it. Congrats and good luck!

like

Sometimes if you book vendors early you can get their current pricing locked in rather than the pricing for the year of your wedding.

Dresses are taking some time to come in, so consider dress shopping 12 months in advance.

While you have time, draft a guest list so you can reflect on it for more time. I did this and I was able to shift people around on the list based on interactions with them, etc.

like

Order your dress right now. The earlier, the better. You can focus on other things if you already have your dress.

Do you have a planner? I think it will be much easier if you have one. Less stress as well.

Hmm. Dress, photographer, venue and designs. I think there are the most important ones.
