I agree with Associate 1. This is the worst time to be testing the market because the job market is awful right now. I have friends that have been looking for new roles for over six months and can't seem to find anything. Its a really tough time to be looking for a job.
Costco
Their corporate culture is stuck in the 90s and a lot of their staff comes from the warehouses. They do tech like no one else. Maybe room for disruption by the right person but otherwise expect to conform to some weirdness.
To offer a contrary position, now is a good time to be preparing to test the market and even dipping your toes in the water. Why? If you are laid off, you'll be more prepared. If not, when things pick back up, you'll be ready to run. Just don't expect to get what you're looking for and if you do make a switch, recognize you're more likely to get laid off.
To answer the question in terms of companies, I would look at those who make things in the US and those who support the defense industry fwiw.
