C at T2 firm, which can sponsor MBA.

Is it worth trying to go for a US School vs INSEAD/LBS?

I’m European and see my long term career in Europe. I’d do the MBA for the experience and career change.

HSW yes, maybe M7, maybe throw in Yale SOM for name brand

Why not go to INSEAD/LBS and do a semester at one of the top US programs?

Will your firm only sponsor MBA in Europe? Why not shoot your shot at both US and European programs before making a decision?

like

How tough is to get a VISA after the course?

My understanding is that this has became increasingly difficult.

Additionally, one would need to bank $$$ asap to freely walk away from the sponsoring firm.

Yeah even at a t15 tbh. Nice career break. Would consider switching to US as well. Can get a nice comp adjustment should you want to live here longer.

If your long-term career is in Europe, INSEAD or LBS might be the stronger bet — both are extremely well-regarded by European employers, have powerful alumni networks across the region, and offer faster ROI (particularly INSEAD’s 1-year program). They also provide strong placement into consulting, finance, and industry leadership roles within Europe.

US schools like Wharton, Booth, or Kellogg would give you broader exposure, a 2-year immersive experience, and a more generalist brand globally. But the cost and visa hurdles are higher, and their network, while huge, is strongest in North America.

It really comes down to what you value most:

US MBA → immersive 2-year experience, global brand, strong in US/Asia.

INSEAD/LBS → faster return, deeply connected to Europe, highly international cohorts.

Since you already see your future in Europe, INSEAD or LBS could give you the best alignment between network, cost, and opportunity — unless you’re specifically looking to pivot into a US-based role for a few years post-MBA.

Worried I just won’t get a look or judged too hard if I’m not coming from a top tier banking firm (messed up my summer internship and it’s haunted me since) - how much does that matter of prestige of bank vs the industry you’re working in and what’s the best advice in being able to go to HSW?

My colleagues
Just to put some intro
I am 22 years after college experience and worked in consulting for 15 years and currently in industry for 7 years.
My long term goal is to go back to consulting more of a business advisor from a strategy perspective
Here is my question
Would MBA be any good for me especially looking at strategy side?
I don’t want to spend $200K and would probably go online MBA in a mid tier school. Are those any good?
Looking forward to your great input on this topic

Becoming a manger in my current company/path will probably get me there in terms of TC. Also considering EMBA from a good school (Wharton Global, Duke, Kellogg, Booth).

Interviewing question: for anecdotal “tell me abt a time when..”, & similar questions - are you allowed to recycle stories from your undergrad years or do they only look for post grad/work stuff? Afraid some of the stories that sounded okay at undergrad recruiting might now come across as a bit “lightweight” in this context...like would they eye roll if we start talking about that one time we did a science competition sophomore year of college (even though it taught an important lesson)..etc.🤔
