OP, EY Partner here. Absolutely not. Even at the Partner level, only a handful have access to that information - generally those in leadership positions. We sometimes have to request individual ones from HR, but generally it is for a particular person when we are dealing with a specific issue.
Even, the partners who call you with your compensation are only given that information for the people they call.
No, why?
[Standard rates by level] x (1 - [discount] + [admin]) x [expected hours]
Do you set project rates based on individual salaries? That would be kinda crazy and drive the wrong behaviors IMO.
Not at kpmg or deloitte when I was there.
@OP the only time I have had confidential information is when people on my team have given it to me. I really don't want to know.
I'm not even sure I could figure it out based on project margins as PwC stated because everything is calculated (to my knowledge) off a practice blended rate by level. Then again I've never tried to figure it out as once again I don't want to know.
Generally the only thing I know is if you are over or underperforming, and areas of strength and weakness.
You can if you’re fed
No
Yes
It’s called resource rates (cohort aside)
Yes we’ve had to pull actuals for contract bidding purposes sometimes (Fed here)
At Pwc you can figure it out based on cohort
PwC2 how do you find your cohort?
I can figure it out based on margins. Not at big 4.
No. Not even in fed
@D1 - professional curiosity. Also have met some SM’s who make it seem like they have enormous amounts of confidential info about coworkers in their heads they can’t share with lower levels. Was curious how much they really had access to outside of grapevine.
I am a SM. We don’t
P3 - scale rate lookup tool. It won’t have sub cohorts but it’s close enough
How do you cost projects if you can’t?
