Is a daily 1.5 hour commute (total) worth a more supportive work environment and better benefits?
Thinking of jumping ship after just 6 months in a fully remote position for an in-house, in person job where expectation is 5d/week in person. Commute would be around 90minutes/day in interstate. Better salary, good 401k match, parental leave (20 weeks paid), 4wks PTO, and a very big name for the resume. 3 YOE. But I love the flexibility of remote work, so struggling to decide.

Aww, bummed to see this is a dead bowl. Anyone still around?? Getting ready for our first internal off-site and I haven't seen the rest of my team in person for almost 3 years now. I'm more nervous about the new folks that I have only met via Teams, including my 1st-ever direct report. I feel fine in my own skin most of the time but when I am in new and unfamiliar situations I get crazy body dysmorphia and super concious of my physicality. Giving notice next week to someone who went out of her way to recruit and hire me away from my old firm and has been really good to me. She worked for over a year to get me to come over. Now after only 6 months I’m going back to my old firm but in a different (better) group than I was in before. I am dreading the convo and feeling guilty but need to get over it. So i work at this company in coimbatore (india) and we have a very poor work life balance. We have a 6 day working policy and no vacation or sick leaves just 1 day casual leave a month. We usualy had to work around 10 to 12 hrs and no leaves even during govt holidays. How can i make them understand this is killing our personal life.
