Full comp, 18 weeks (6 weeks birthing + 12 weeks parental) for birthing parent, 12 weeks for non-birthing. 1 month ramp down (50% expectation) pre-leave and 1 month ramp up post-leave. You can add 4 weeks vacation to your leave but they don’t pro rate your bonus requirement for that (Am Law 50)
My firm (AM 200) has 12 weeks paid for the birthing parent, and 2 weeks paid for the non-birth parent. All run concurrently with FMLA or other state leave policies. Have to be at the firm for 6 months. Billable requirements prorated accordingly.
20 weeks for birthing parent, all fully paid. Non-birthing is slightly less time (I can’t remember exactly but it’s at least 12). Can add all accrued vacation (we get 4 weeks per year) and can take additional unpaid leave. Hours requirement and bonus pro-rated accordingly. AmLaw 25
12 weeks paid for both, small IP boutique in the Midwest. My paternity leave starts tomorrow and I’m so FREAKING pumped ❤️
12 weeks or 480 hours of billable time credit that can be billed as needed. Very flexible.
My firm is looking at this benefit, too. Currently, 8 weeks of pay supplementing PFL only, so it’s the same for birthing parent and non-birthing parent. No supplementing SDI during PDL. Pro-rated hours, but for a pro-rated portion of one objective bonus component.
Probably adding at least 4-6 weeks to supplement SDI for birth parent, as it seems not doing so is out of market. Also looking at giving full objective bonus component for pro-rated hours.
My firm is slightly larger and in CA but not in the Bay.
I’m at a lit boutique (40 attys) and we have 18 weeks for birthing parent, 12 weeks for non birthing parent. Full pay. Ramp-down and -up would have been nice… I feel brain dead. We have no official vacation policy so there was nothing to tack on. Give them a dedicated pumping room with a mini fridge (can be in their office if the door locks and it’s not see through).
