Hello, I'm looking at a position within Paypal. My question, what is the work life balance, expectation for office (hybrid/remote/other) and is the pay comparable to other companies? Reviewing Director and Senior Director roles on the business side. I have over 15 years experience with multiple degrees. TIA!

No. I wouldn’t live anywhere in LA without a car. It’s not like NY at all.
I lived here over a year without a car. Yes, it’s doable. Especially if you Instacart for your bulk groceries. If you work remote and rarely go out, I think it’s worth considering, but remember CC is quite big. The closer you are to the main downtown area, the better.
You can live anywhere without a car if you spend money on Ubers. Culver City is nice. I lived at Venice/overland for 5 years.
Very doable. I’ve been living without a car in CC for 3 years now. I consider Metro Bike as a reliable transportation too.
I moved next to my work and then I didn’t drive any more in daily basis. Spending $500 a month for the insurance and a parking spot at my apt didn’t seem worthy. So I got rid of it.
Back then I lived in Venice. It was doable but at times I felt trapped because there weren’t many transportation options when I needed. In comparison, Culver City has way more options that run longer periods of time. Rent is also a little cheaper. Mine is less than 2k. That’s how I settled in Culver without a car.
I’ve set $200 monthly budget for Lyft, but most times I spend less than $80. Now Culver has bus lanes installed, sometimes it’s even faster and more convenient to use public transportations especially when traveling towards to DTLA.
YES. The buses and trains will allow you to get most places for next to nothing, and Uber/Lyft and a bike will close the other gaps. Also recommend Turo for when you need to drive. The drawback is of course time spent and convenience, but I did it for six months and it was not bad at all.
It's a nice area along Culver Blvd between Sepulveda and Ince if you don't plan to travel much outside of the area.
Possible, sure, but not comfortable— I wouldn’t.
Not in Culver City but another sort of walkable neighborhood, and I wasn’t trying to be carless or change how I live (not confined to one neighborhood), but I totaled my car. I did a lot more Lyfts and rides from friends and it was not my favorite. You really don’t have the freedom you would somewhere with real public transit like NY or even semi-real public transit like the Bay Area/SF.
